The luxury lodge’s reopening comes as the Northern Territory Government announces restrictions to travel into the Northern Territory will be lifted from July 17, 2020. Meanwhile Jetstar has re-established daily domestic flights connecting Ayers Rock Airport with Sydney from August and with Melbourne from September this year.

Longitude 131° reopens for guest stays from August 21, 2020, and offers guests its trademark all-inclusive outback luxury, with world-class cuisine, exceptional service and a full itinerary of signature experiences of World Heritage-listed Uluru and Kata Tjuta. With accommodation for a maximum of just 34 guests, Longitude 131° offers plenty of space for an exclusive getaway in Australia’s outback.

The lodge’s reopening comes at an ideal time to visit the Red Centre, when the days are mild, the nights cool and the skies are clear, perfect for sightseeing and later for stargazing.

Baillie Lodges founder James Baillie said he hoped Australian’s would choose now to visit the World Heritage-listed Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in this time of rediscovering the country’s remarkable domestic travel destinations.

“Many Australians haven’t really explored their own backyard, where there’s not only wide open spaces and endless horizons but loads of incredible adventures to be had,” Mr Baillie said.

“We hope that for many Australians who have been planning their next trip, now will be the time to make the wish-list trip to Uluru-Kata Tjuta – and to treat themselves to a stay in style at Longitude 131°.

“As tourism operators we’d like to offer thanks and credit to the Northern Territory Government which moved quickly initially to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by restricting inbound travel, with the result that many business are able to reopen safely now.

“The team at Longitude 131° has spent the ensuing months readying for reopening, with a whole swag of maintenance tasks now complete. Longitude 131° is more sparkling than ever, and we can’t wait to welcome our guests back”.
