South Australian Eco-Tourism business Murray River Walk has created two new unique river tours Murray River Safari and Murray River Escapes

Two new offerings build on the success of their Renmark-based multi-day walk, where small private groups are guided each day along the river before arriving at their houseboat accommodation. The houseboat travels with them and this new 3-day guided Murray River Safari includes backwater canoeing, birdwatching on Outback lakes and a cultural walk with Aboriginal rangers.

Owner operators of Murray River Trails, Tony and Susie Sharley, are confident that as travel restrictions are lifted and South Australians start travelling again, the Riverland will be top of mind for those keen to explore nature in all its beauty. With tours incorporating fully-equipped houseboat accommodation, some complete with their own spa pools, providing all the comforts required after a day on your feet.

The Murray River Escapes tour includes a houseboat driver who will manoeuvre the houseboat each day, taking the stress out of navigating and mooring a boat which is also your accommodation.  Customised itineraries are created by choosing from 10 activity modules on and off the river, including a chef cooked dinner on board or a guided brandy, wine, and spirits tour in the Riverland.

Utilising houseboats as part of a guided tour is a great way to explore the area by foot while having the luxury of comfortable accommodation and facilities to return home to each day.

“We have many fond memories hosting friends and family on houseboat journeys. It is relaxing and a great way to spend time together. We wanted to help make that easier for people and give them the opportunity to tailor their holiday to include the best of the region” said Mr Sharley.
